Participation in the PostFinance Ltd (hereinafter “PostFinance”) promotion and prize draw is governed by the conditions detailed below. By taking part in the promotion and prize draw, participants accept these conditions of participation.

Conditions of participation: 50 francs credit when new customers open a Smart, SmartPlus or SmartStudents banking package

Anyone who applies for a Smart, SmartPlus or SmartStudents banking package with PostFinance between 2 September and 6 October 2024 will receive credit in the amount of 50 francs directly to their new PostFinance account by 31 December 2024 upon successful review of their application. If the documents and personal data required for the banking package application are not provided within 60 days, the account opening cannot be actioned and entitlement to the credit shall lapse. The offer does not apply to upgrades or downgrades of existing banking packages or to further account openings within an existing banking package. The offer is valid only once when customers open their first banking package (Smart, SmartPlus or SmartStudents) within the specified time period. The offers does not apply to individuals who have already opened a PostFinance banking package in the past, regardless of whether the banking package was still active or was closed at the specified time of the promotion. The credit of 50 francs that is paid out when customers open their first Smart, SmartPlus or SmartStudents banking package is only received by the person who meets the requirements for the relevant banking package (Smart, SmartPlus or SmartStudents). All natural persons residing in Switzerland aged 20 and above are eligible to apply for the Smart and SmartPlus banking packages, while all natural persons aged between 18 and 30 are eligible to apply for the SmartStudents banking package. Applications for a new banking package (Smart, SmartPlus or SmartStudents) can be made via all channels offered by PostFinance, namely online via postfinance.ch, in the PostFinance App, at a PostFinance branch or at a Swiss Post branch.

Conditions of participation: 50 francs credit when new customers take out a credit card or prepaid card

Anyone who applies for their first PostFinance Visa or Mastercard^® credit card or prepaid card with PostFinance between 2 September and 6 October 2024 will receive further credit in the amount of 50 francs directly to their own PostFinance account by 31 December 2024 upon successful review of their application. This means that new customers will receive a total credit amount of 100 francs to their PostFinance account when they successfully open a banking package (Smart, SmartPlus or SmartStudents) and take out of a credit card or prepaid card. The offer does not apply to second cards or to upgrades to existing credit cards and is valid only once when customers apply for their first credit card or prepaid card during the specified time period. The amount will be credited once per person (and not per card). The credit of 50 francs that is paid out when customers apply for their first credit card or prepaid card can be received only by the person who meets the requirements for the respective credit or prepaid card and who has an active credit or prepaid card up to the payment date. All natural persons aged 12 or over for prepaid cards and 18 or over for credit cards who are resident in Switzerland on a permanent basis are eligible to apply. Customers can apply for their first credit card or prepaid card via all channels offered by PostFinance, namely online via postfinance.ch, in the PostFinance App, at a PostFinance branch or at a Swiss Post branch. Existing PostFinance customers with a banking package can also apply for a credit card or prepaid card via e-finance.

A banking package (Smart, SmartPlus, SmartYoung and SmartStudents) at PostFinance is required in order to apply for a credit card or prepaid card from PostFinance. If the person does not yet have a PostFinance banking package, a PostFinance banking package must be opened in order to take out a credit card or prepaid card. The SmartKids banking package is excluded from this. This does not include a credit card or prepaid card.

Promotion data protection

All personal data relating to participants will be stored and used only for the purposes of organizing and implementing the promotion. PostFinance would like to state that personal information relating to participants will not be passed on to third parties or made available for use without the participant’s consent.

Conditions of participation: ice hockey tickets prize draw

Anyone who applies for a Smart, SmartPlus or SmartStudents banking package between 2 September and 6 October 2024 will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win 500 x two tickets to a National League ice hockey match in Q1/2025 upon successful review of their application. The competition is open to all natural persons aged 18 or over who are resident in Switzerland. Each participant can only enter the prize draw once. Participating more than once is not permitted. Participation is free of charge. Participation in the prize draw of 500 x two ice hockey tickets is governed by the conditions set out below. By taking part in the prize draw, participants accept these conditions of participation. 

Determining the winners

PostFinance will draw the winner at random on 21 October 2024, provided the application has been successful reviewed and the banking package has been opened by then. The prize draw will be closed to the public. The winner will subsequently be personally informed by letter. The winner has the right to refuse their prize. In this case, the winner must send an email to eishockey@postfinance.ch and declare that they wish to refuse the prize. The prize draw will then be held again.

Prize draw data protection

Participants are required to provide their personal details to take part in the prize draw. The participant confirms that the personal details they have provided, in particular the first name, last name and e-mail address, are truthful and accurate.

All personal data relating to participants will be exclusively stored and used for the purposes of organizing and implementing the ice hockey tickets prize draw. By taking part in the prize draw, the winner accepts that their data will be disclosed to the relevant ice hockey club solely for the purposes of selecting and collecting the tickets. Once we have successfully contacted the winner, the details of all participants will be deleted. The participant is free to withdraw from the prize draw at any time. In this case, the person should e-mail eishockey@postfinance.ch.

Bank client confidentiality

The participant releases PostFinance from bank client confidentiality with regard to data that is necessary for contacting the participant in the course of the prize draw or data that is forwarded to any third parties that are required to be involved.  

In addition, it cannot be ruled out that a possible banking relationship with PostFinance may be indicated through the processing of the prize draw and the communication required for this. By providing their e-mail address, the winner expressly agrees to communication via unsecured e-mail and waives bank client confidentiality in this regard.

Changes to the conditions of participations and termination of the promotion and/or prize draw

These conditions of participation may be altered by PostFinance at any time. Moreover, PostFinance reserves the right to terminate the promotion and/or prize draw at any time without advance notice and without giving a reason. In the event of suspected fraud or misuse, breach of these conditions of participation or other unacceptable conduct, PostFinance may exclude individual persons from the promotion and/or prize draw without stating reasons. If participants are excluded or if the promotion and/or prize draw is discontinued, there will be no right to claim for payment or compensation. 

Final provisions

To the extent permitted by law, PostFinance excludes any liability in connection with the promotion and/or prize draw. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the promotion and the prize draw. Any right of appeal is excluded. The promotion and the prize draw are subject to Swiss law. The sole place of jurisdiction is Bern (Switzerland).
